If you live outside of China and want to download Douyin, follow the steps below:

• Visit the official website Douyin.com.
• Tap on the Download button to start downloading the .apk file.
• Install the app after downloading is finished.

Download Douyin on iOS

Unlike Android, the Douyin app installation on an iPhone or iPad can be rather complicated. You must first change your Apple ID country to China in order to download the Douyin app on your iOS device.

What to do before you change your country or region

• If your Apple ID has a positive balance, spend it as soon as possible.
• Cancel your subscriptions and wait until they’re done. 
• Make sure you have a payment method for your new country or region.

Steps to switch region to China and download Douyin

• Open the Settings app. 
• Tap your name, then tap Media & Purchases.
• Tap View Account. You might be asked to sign in.
• Tap Country/Region.
• Select “China” from the list, and agree to the terms and conditions.
• To finish the process, fill in your billing address, choose a payment method of ‘None,’ and tap on ‘Next.’

You can download the Douyin app from the Apple App Store once your Apple ID has been switched to China. On the App Store, you can search for “抖音” to find the app.
